Paytm (Pay Through Mobile) is one of India's largest digital payments and financial services platforms, having evolved from a mobile recharge service in 2010 into a full UPI-based ecosystem with 300M+ users.
Despite its scale, user research revealed a critical problem: the app had grown by adding features, never by restructuring. The result was a cognitive battlefield that overwhelmed users especially those 35+.
